Hello Bill,

Here are three quick snap shots of the dish on the radar arch on the back of my 40' Manta Catamaran.

We are leaving for the Bahamas early tomorrow morning and will take a pix at one of our favorite anchorages and send you a report on how it works over there.

When I unpacked your shipment and examined all it's components I immediately knew I had purchased a quality system. Everything was just made of first class materials. The appearance and feel of every part was excellent.

Installation was a breeze...the hardest part was fishing the wires from the port side of the radar arch to the TV location on the starboard side of the bridge deck. As you can see from the pix, I have done a semi permanent installation. I will only have to take down the easily removed antenna bar for storage or stormy weather.

Make that gift certificate to West Marine please. I will be getting mail while I am away but probably won't see a West Marine store until September. (MSS Note: Users that provide a letter and a picture get a $25 gift certificate to choice of West Marine, BOAT/US or Boater's World).

 Later,

Spent the last 24 hours "on the hook" and used your antenna system when we wanted to watch TV. It was just super!

As you know we had it on in the marina before we left. After we anchored I turned on the system and rushed outside to watch it automatically turn the antenna to the same heading that it was set on at the marina. It first turned one way...hit the soft stop....reversed direction and locked back to the original heading. We had moved about 15 miles so it didn't find the signal at the same heading. I simply pressed the 10 degree move button and there it was! No problem, easy, and smooth.

My boat is a catamaran and our ground tackle rig includes a line from the point of each hull that connect onto the anchor chain so that we ride square to the wind at all times. The more wind the more stable our ride at anchor. For that reason, don't you think that a lower setting than 5 would be appropriote? We just don't swing very far or very fast at anchor.

What do you think? I would guess that it would save on energy usage too! ;-)
